Youth Exchange Host Week Programme 2026

Welcome to the Finland Youth Exchange Host Week!

During the host family week, we will organise several shared day trips and activities for the exchange students, host family members, siblings and friends. Each activity has its own registration page on Fienta.

Registration

Please register the Youth Exchange participant for each event they will attend.

Host family members, siblings and friends are also welcome to join. Please select the correct ticket type for every participant.

Registration closes at 16:00 on the day before each event.

Please register on time so that we know:

  • how many participants will attend

  • who is joining each activity

  • how many tickets and reservations are needed

  • who should be included in the group communication

If plans change after registration has closed, please contact the organisers as soon as possible.

Important Information for Host Families

Please check the meeting point, meeting time and return point carefully on each event page.

Make sure that the exchange student:

  • knows how to reach the meeting point

  • arrives on time

  • has suitable clothing and comfortable shoes

  • brings a water bottle

  • has a payment card or money when food, transport or entrance tickets are not included

  • has the organiser’s contact details

The exact programme, ticket information, inclusions and what to bring are shown separately on each Fienta event page.

Travelling to and from the Event

Please make sure that the participant knows how to get to the meeting point on time and how to travel home safely after the event. If needed, help them plan their journey in advance.

Bus Tickets

The cheapest public transport tickets are available through the HSL app. You can also pay for your journey with a contactless credit or debit card on buses. Traditional ticket machines are available at some stations and stops.

Age group 16-17 years can use children tickets.

Google Maps and Navigation

Please make sure the exchange student has downloaded the Helsinki area in Google Maps before arriving. This allows Google Maps to work offline, which is useful if they do not have mobile data in Finland.

Joining as a Host Family Member or Friend

Host family members, siblings and friends are welcome to join the activities when places are available.

Please register every person separately using the Host Family Member or Friend ticket.

Check the event page carefully, as transport, entrance tickets, food and drinks may not be included for accompanying guests.

Cancellations and Changes

Please cancel your registration if you can no longer attend. This helps us keep the participant list accurate and avoid unnecessary reservations or ticket costs.

The programme may change because of weather, transport schedules or other practical reasons. Any important changes will be shared with participants and host families.
